    Marriage Intensives

Does your marriage need help NOW? Do you feel stuck in a recurring situation or argument that seems to be never ending? Do you experience emotional distance? Have you suffered from  infidelity and wonder if there is any way back? Are you feeling helpless or hopeless but want to repair the relationship? If you answered yes to just one of these questions then you are likely in need of a Marriage Intensive.

    Couples Counseling

Couples are under more stress today than ever before. Brown Counseling & Coaching can help you learn positive and effective relationship skills to put you back on the path of peace in the home, and greater couple satisfaction.

Every relationship has its good days and its bad days. The concern comes when there are more bad days than good ones. So what may be an indicator that you might want to seek some outside help?

    • You would rather be somewhere other than with your spouse
    • You have great struggles in your communication—unable to have a conversation without arguing
    • You have issues with intimacy, or have thoughts that there should be more sex
    • You have suspicion that your partner is not being faithful
    • You feel stuck and/or emotionally empty

Let us help you with skills that will help you get past resentment, learn better communication, and enjoy your relationship again.

    Discernment Counseling

If you or your spouse are considering divorce but are not completely sure that’s the best path, you are in a tough spot and Discernment Counseling is designed for you. This is a chance to slow down, take a breath, and look at your options for your marriage. Discernment Counseling is a new way of helping couples where one person is “leaning out” of the relationship—and not sure that regular marriage counseling would help–and the other is “leaning in”—that is, interested in rebuilding the marriage. The counselor will help you decide whether to try to restore your marriage to health, move toward divorce, or take a time out and decide later.

    Faith-Based Counseling

Has your light become dimmer over the years? Are you struggling to find your true path and calling? Do you wish for guidance from a trained professional who will understand and respect that your number one priority is building a relationship with God? If so, you are definitely not alone. More and more of my clients are looking for faith-based counseling that can heal the mind and the soul. They want to be able to not only discuss the issues they are having but also openly discuss God, the Bible, and their belief in the power of prayer.

    Individual Counseling

Stress, anxiety, depression, and even despair are common today. The opportunity to have a trusted individual to share these struggles with is the first step to overcoming your overwhelming days.

Life can be hard, and talking to a counselor can be just the thing that you need. If you find yourself struggling with:

    • Feelings of hopelessness or helplessness (depressed)
    • Feel overwhelmed by stress or anxiety
    • Negative feelings or unorganized thought patterns
    • A lack of pleasure in life
    • A desire to discover personal strengths

If this is you, or if you simply desire a confidential and safe place to express your concerns we can help.

    Enneagram Coaching

The Enneagram is more than a simple personality test. Sure, most assessments can help you uncover your strengths and preferences but the Enneagram goes so much deeper and provides so much more.  What makes the Enneagram so unique and useful?  It uncovers the WHY behind your thoughts and actions.  When you know the WHY you have the key to living and working with others with understanding and grace.

    Divorce Recovery Therapy

Just as marriage is one of life’s most significant experiences, so is divorce. While recovering from divorce can be difficult, it’s not impossible. Divorce recovery therapy can help you cope with the emotional and mental toll that often comes with the end of a marriage. Working one-on-one with a therapist, you can learn to accept and address feelings of anger, sadness, anxiety, guilt or depression. Your therapist can help you find positive outlets to deal with your emotions. Therapy can help you process these emotions in a healthy way so that you can move past this moment of pain and sorrow and work to move forward in your life.

    Men’s Issues

Are you feeling lost and uncertain about the way your life is going? Do you suffer from anxiety or depression? Do you wish you had someone to talk to but are afraid that asking for help isn’t “the manly thing to do?” While traditionally men have not been the ones to seek out therapy, that doesn’t mean they haven’t had reason to. For example, according to a recent Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) survey, the number of men who seek treatment for mental health issues is significantly lower than the number of women with the same mental health concerns.

    Pre-Marital Counseling

Are you a newlywed? Did you just get engaged? Are you and your partner looking to take your relationship to the next level? When you’re considering marriage, deciding on your honeymoon or figuring out where you want to live are among the first things you start to plan. Premarital counseling might be last on your list if it’s there at all. While it’s not an engagement topic that’s very fun or romantic, premarital counseling can set your marriage up to succeed and survive long-term, in spite of the odds.
